NHL: STASERA SHARKS-SENATORS

The Sharks earned a convincing 6-2 victory over the Canadian team in their first meeting.
The Sharks and Senators will meet for the 50th time in NHL regular-season history. Despite winning the first matchup of the season, San Jose trails Ottawa 24-21 in all-time wins, while the teams have also played to four ties.
Despite their Oct. 22 victory, the Sharks have won only two of their last eight regular-season games against Ottawa.
After winning three straight home meetings against the Senators, San Jose has lost the last two matchups at SAP Center, both by one goal.

Milestones Within Reach for Nedeljkovic and Marchment

In the first meeting of the season against Ottawa, Kiefer Sherwood recorded the 26th multi-point game of his regular-season career by picking up two assists.
If he gets the start, Alex Nedeljkovic will make his 200th career NHL start. The American goaltender has appeared in 224 regular-season games overall.
Mason Marchment’s next goal will be the 100th of his NHL career. The left wing has scored four goals in 14 games since joining the San Jose Sharks.
Only two players on the Sharks’ current roster have previously played for the Ottawa Senators: Adam Gaudette and Zack Ostapchuk.

Three Players Lead the Sharks Over Their Last Five Games

The Senators are Darnell Nurse’s favorite opponent in terms of goal scoring. The Sharks defenseman has scored seven goals in 27 career regular-season games against Ottawa.
Macklin Celebrini, Jacob Trouba and Kiefer Sherwood are tied for the team lead with five points apiece over the Sharks’ last five games.
