ENGLISH VERSION
First Competitive Meeting Between Bournemouth and Milan
European football takes centre stage this week as AC Milan return to Europa League action. On Matchday 3 of the league phase, the Rossoneri will once again play away from home, this time against English side Bournemouth.
Bournemouth and Milan will meet in a competitive fixture for the first time in their history.
Milan lost at home to Benfica on the opening matchday before winning away at Salzburg. Bournemouth, meanwhile, have a perfect record after victories over Real Sociedad and Sturm Graz.
The Rossoneri are seeking a second consecutive Europa League victory. The last time they achieved that was in the 2023-24 season, when they defeated Slavia Prague in both legs of their last-16 tie.
Away from home, Milan have not won two consecutive matches in this competition since 2017. On that occasion, they recorded three successive away victories against Universitatea Craiova, Škendija and Austria Vienna between 27 July and 14 September.
Rossoneri Unbeaten in Six Away Matches
Across all competitions, Milan have not recorded three consecutive victories since 28 September 2025. That run consisted of five straight wins, four in Serie A and one in the Coppa Italia.
The Rossoneri are also unbeaten in six away matches across all competitions, recording three wins and three draws. It is their longest such run since last March, when they went seven consecutive away fixtures without defeat.
Milan will come up against a familiar face from Italian football in the Bournemouth squad: former Juventus and Monza goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio.
Greek referee Vassilis Fotias has been appointed to take charge of Bournemouth v Milan.
It will be Fotias’s second Europa League appointment, and he has never previously officiated either club.
