È un inizio pazzo di stagione quello che stanno affrontando i San Jose Sharks. Dopo la sconfitta rocambolesca all’overtime contro i Vegas Golden Knights, i ragazzi guidati da Ryan Warsofsky hanno buttato alle ortiche anche la gara contro gli Anaheim Ducks. Anche contro i Ducks è arrivata la sconfitta al tempo supplementare dopo che gli Sharks sono stati in vantaggio di due reti (6-4) a 14 minuti dalla fine della gara. San Jose è sempre stato rimontato da Anaheim. Nel primo tempo avanti 2-0 con le reti di Toffoli e Reaves, gli Sharks hanno subito le due reti dei Ducks. Nella frazione centrale, dopo essere passati in vantaggio con il goal di Mario Ferraro, San Jose viene rimontato sul 3-3 da Anaheim. Successivamente gli Sharks trovano la rete del 4-3 e del 5-3 con i goal in superiorità numerica di John Klingberg e Adam Gaudette. A trenta secondi dal termine del tempo, i Ducks riducono il vantaggio portandosi sul 5-4. L’ultimo periodo inizia bene per i padroni di casa che si riportano avanti di due goal, il 6-4 lo firma Jeff Skinner dopo sei minuti. Anaheim si riavvicina nel punteggio realizzando il 5-6 con Gauthier e completa la rimonta a 49” dalla sirena finale, a porta vuota con l’uomo in più. Nel supplementare, gli ospiti trovano il goal vittoria con Leo Carlsson su assist dell’ex Mikael Granlund. Finale 6-7 per i Ducks.
